A delegation of Faculty led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Podile Appa Rao are at the University of Bordeaux, France for an International conference organized by University of Bordeaux. The members include Prof. N. Siva Kumar, Director of International Affairs, Professors A. S. Raghavendra, T. Sarada, G. Padmaja, Anitha Jagota, M.J. Swamy and Dr. Irfan Ghazi. The conference entitled, Plants with health benefits and Biomolecules of Interest is organized by the University of Bordeaux between 27th to 29th November, 2019.
Several faculty from Bordeaux University and UoH faculty are delivering lectures. The main areas including Conventional vs organic production of plants with health benefits, Vegetal extraction for quantification and production, Objectives for the use of metabalomics of plant based products, Formulation and interaction, Quality control in food supplements, Regulation and Quality control, Round table discussion among industrial, practitioners and Scientists are some of the topics that are being deliberated during the conference.
On 27th November 2019, UoH and University of Bordeaux have signed an MoU in Bordeaux that would facilitate exchange of faculties and students between both Universities. University of Bordeaux is one of the top ranking Universities in France with a faculty strength of over 5,000 and a student strength of more the 50,000. The University has several programs of study at graduate, post graduate and Ph.D. level. It has also international programs taught in english, and has several MoUs signed with foreign Universities. UoH in future would explore with University of Bordeaux joint research projects, student and faculty exchanges and possible joint supervision for students that go through the exchange program.
