Prof. M.N.V. Prasad, Department of Plant Sciences, School of Life Sciences, University of Hyderabad (UoH) has been selected for the “Excellent Scholar Award” by the Organizing Committee of the XIX International Botanical Congress to be held in July 23-29, 2017 Shenzhen, China. Dr. Abin Sebastian (eastwhile Doctoral student of Prof. M.N.V. Prasad and currently Dr Kothari PDF in School of Chemistry) was also selected for the “Outstanding Student Award”

The Organizing Committee of the XIX International Botanical Congress (to be held in July 23-29, 2017, Shenzhen China) recognized Prof. M.N.V. Prasad with the Excellent Scholar Award.

Prof. Prasad and Dr. Sebastian are invited to take part in the IBC 2017 to be held in Shenzhen, China, July 23-29, 2017.

The Excellent Scholar Award supports scientists who have conducted high quality research to attend the XIX IBC in Shenzhen, China. The Outstanding Student Award is for undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows to attend the Congress to contribute high quality presentations

About Prof. Prasad:

Prof. M N V Prasad made significant contributions to the field of “Plant-Metal interactions and bioremediation. He has 198 research articles in peer reviewed Journals; 119 chapter in books, 17 Books (edited) by International publishers such as Elsevier, John Wiley, Springer, Kluwer, Marcel Dekker, CRC Taylor & Francis etc. Google Scholar citations 10,673, h-index 52.

Prof. Prasad was awarded the Pitamber Pant National Environment Fellowship for the year 2007 by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (Government of India). In Jan 2017, the Ministry of Human Resources Development (Government of India) deputed him to Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand for Jan-April 2017 semester and taught “Natural Resources Degradation and Conservation” to international students. He also served the Ministry of Environment and Forests in various advisory committees on biodiversity conservation, ecosystem services, pollution control and abatement, environmental information systems and bioremediation of contaminated sites. He was active as a visiting scientist in several foreign universities and research institutes in all continents of the globe.
